1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how TravelGoCo (“TravelGoCo”, “we”, “our” or “us”) handles information when you visit travelgoco.com, browse destination content, use our travel tools or send an enquiry. TravelGoCo is a practical travel-information website. You can browse its public content without creating a visitor account.

Different laws may give you different privacy rights based on where you live. We aim to explain our practices in clear language; this policy should be read alongside any notices shown for a specific feature.

2. Information we receive

Information you choose to submit

If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject and message you provide. We store this information in the site's restricted administration inbox to understand and respond to your enquiry. Please avoid including passwords, financial credentials, identity documents or sensitive personal information in a contact message.

Technical and security information

Like most websites, the hosting environment may process information such as IP addresses, request times, requested pages, browser characteristics and error events to deliver pages, troubleshoot faults and protect the service. Our contact form also creates a one-way security fingerprint from the submitting IP address to support misuse prevention; this is separate from the content of your message.

Preferences and interactive tools

Certain features may store preferences, such as a selected currency or temperature unit, in your browser or in temporary session storage. Weather requests use the country and city selected on the website; we do not require your device's precise GPS location for the country weather feature.

3. How information is used

We use relevant information to serve website pages and tools, receive and manage enquiries, investigate errors and abuse, protect the website, understand whether optional features are functioning and satisfy applicable legal obligations. We do not require a public account for ordinary country-guide reading or basic travel tool access.

4. Currency, weather and translation providers

Currency conversions use exchange-rate information stored on TravelGoCo's server. A visitor's amount does not need to be sent to the exchange-rate provider for each conversion. Weather information is retrieved by our server for selected supported cities and may be served from a shared cache.

If you use the Translator, the text you enter and the selected languages may be transmitted to our configured translation provider to generate the result. Avoid entering confidential, sensitive or personally identifying text into automated translation tools. Third-party services handle requests according to their own published terms and privacy notices.

5. Essential storage and optional analytics

TravelGoCo uses strictly necessary browser storage for site operation, including encrypted session and security information when needed for forms or administration. A visitor can generally read country pages and Guides without signing in. Some nonessential settings, such as an interface preference, may be saved in the browser.

We show a small, non-blocking privacy notice for optional website analytics. The first-party choice starts with analytics denied. If you allow it, Google Analytics may measure website usage using cookies and associated technical data (such as page activity, device and browser characteristics and approximate location). If you reject optional analytics, we do not load Google Analytics through our website's consent-controlled loader. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie preferences in the footer. The preference itself is stored in your browser for up to 180 days unless you change or clear it.

You can also delete or restrict cookies and local storage using browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may interrupt forms, administrative sessions or other essential features. Consent choices do not affect information already lawfully processed by a third-party provider; contact the relevant provider if you need to exercise rights over that information.

6. Advertising and Google AdSense

TravelGoCo may display clearly identified advertisements, including those served by Google AdSense. Advertising helps us keep our travel information freely accessible to travellers around the world. When Google advertising is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve advertising based on earlier visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies can enable it and its partners to personalize advertising based on browsing activity. You can manage Google's ad personalization through Google My Ad Center and review additional advertising-industry controls at YourAdChoices where available.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland, applicable advertising choices are collected using a Google-certified consent management platform compatible with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework when such advertising is activated. Google AdSense may also provide location-specific US state privacy opt-outs. Advertising preferences are distinct from the optional first-party analytics choice above. Our small analytics banner is not a replacement for legally required advertising consent.

7. Service providers and external links

We may use hosting, security, media-storage, weather, currency, translation, analytics and advertising providers to operate relevant features. When you choose an external website or booking link, the destination site's own terms and privacy practices apply. External providers may operate in jurisdictions different from your own. Review their policies before submitting personal information or purchasing a service.

We may also need to disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety and security of users and the service.

8. Retention and security

Contact enquiries and technical records are kept for operational, security, support or legal purposes for an appropriate period. We keep enquiries while handling them and for follow-up, misuse prevention or legally necessary records, until they are reviewed or deleted through our administration process. Technical logs and third-party records may have different retention periods. We do not currently offer public user accounts. There is no general promise that every server log or third-party copy is deleted immediately when you close a browser.

We apply access restrictions and reasonable technical safeguards appropriate to the website, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Please contact us if you believe information sent to TravelGoCo requires attention.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may be entitled to ask about personal information we hold, request correction or deletion, object to certain processing or raise a concern with a relevant regulator. Requests may require identity verification and can be limited by legal, security or record-keeping obligations.

10. Children

TravelGoCo publishes general travel information for a broad audience and does not offer public user registration. The contact form is not intended as a means to collect unnecessary personal information from children. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
